Peristalsis refers to the synchronous contraction of the muscles in hollow organs that propagates as a wave and transports the contents in a given direction. This is the way in which organs such as the human esophagus or intestine work, and they act in the same way as the pump tubing. Spetecs' latest product The purpose of a peristaltic pump is to pump fluids from A to B. This type of pump has been used for many years in a wide range of analytical devices to pump sam-ples or reagents into the device. Increasing automation in the laboratory has led to a demand for easy-to-operate pumping systems that do not require pressure to be set individually. In the new EasyClick pump from Spetec the tube is placed in a compact unit that can simply be clicked into place. A spring mechanism automatically adjusts the pressure applied as the tube wears. By means of the tube, peristaltic pumps are suitable for continuous operation of liq-uids. Hence, the fluid does not come into contact with moving parts. Depending on the size of the pump head a peristaltic pump can be fitted with one to five channels. For low-pulsation and continuous pumping a high number of rollers is required. Particle-free air for all industry and research workplaces SPETEC GmbH in Erding/Munich is presenting a new product in the field of clean room technology. With CleanBoy®, users can achieve highly efficient clean room conditions at any workplace at little investment cost. The need for extremely clean conditions is becoming ever more important in research and production as well as during service operations. The aim of clean room technology is to remove particles of a diameter of 0.12 µm or larger from a defined space in which the most exacting cleanliness standards guarantee a reliable workflow. This can be achieved using a clean room module from the SuSi® (Super Silent) series which is positioned directly above the work area. Exceptionally pure, filtered air is then passed over the work area. SPETEC GmbH is presenting a new product. The Precision-SY OEM built-in syringe pump was specially developed for use in equipment where high precision in the microliter and nanoliter range is required when introducing samples or reagents. It is specially matched to the requirements of the analysis equipment, i.e. the shape and colour of the mounting plate are tailored to customer requirements. The core elements of the pumps are a stepper motor, a spindle, a linear guideway, a syringe holder and replaceable syringes. Thanks to the high stepper motor resolution of 25,600 steps per revolution, individual steps during the movement sequence are barely perceptible. A connecting element that forms a rigid connection between the spindle and the syringe plunger transmits the drive force from the stepper motor, thus delivering the feed motion for filling or emptying the syringe.
