SPETEC® Clean-room workbench: Mini environment eliminates particles No matter whether it be the medical or pharmaceuticals industries or semiconductor fabrication, many sectors are attaching increasing importance to producing and manufacturing components in a clean, particle-free environment. The primary fields of application for the Spetec clean-room workbench or mini environment are in the optical, electronic and mechanical industries. The clean-room workbench can be tailored to meet customer needs and the required clean room class. In other words, the size, features and design of the workbench are adapted as required. As a rule, the unit is made from special aluminum profiles suitable for use in clean rooms. The side walls can be made from glass or acrylic glass, or the box can be surrounded by a strip curtain. A laminar flow module is then fitted at the top, which delivers class 5 clean room conditions inside the box. This corresponds to a mere 100 0.5 µm particles. The EFBS series laminar flow box features an additional acid-resistant extraction system Dirty or offgassing components are really not ideal for clean room conditions. Nevertheless, there are some applications in industrial manufacturing and research and development where such scenarios are of significance: On the one hand, a clean, i.e. particle-free, environment and, on the other, dirty or offgassing components. And for such situations, Spetec has designed the Flow Box EFBS – a laminar flow box with an integrated, acid-resistant extraction unit. What is special about the EFBS is that it features an extraction unit attached to the side of the box. This is, in turn, connected to a universally adjustable telescopic arm. The tip of the telescopic arm can be positioned with pinpoint accuracy so as to extract the particles or any gas emitted by the source. The component itself is bathed in filtered air. Particle-free air for all industry and research workplaces SPETEC GmbH in Erding/Munich is presenting a new product in the field of clean room technology. With CleanBoy®, users can achieve highly efficient clean room conditions at any workplace at little investment cost. The need for extremely clean conditions is becoming ever more important in research and production as well as during service operations. The aim of clean room technology is to remove particles of a diameter of 0.12 µm or larger from a defined space in which the most exacting cleanliness standards guarantee a reliable workflow. This can be achieved using a clean room module from the SuSi® (Super Silent) series which is positioned directly above the work area. Exceptionally pure, filtered air is then passed over the work area. While the normal indoor atmosphere contains somewhere between 9,000 and 15,000 particles per liter, the use of clean room technology reduces this to a mere 3 particles per liter. The name of Spetec’s SuSi product range comes from ”super silent”. And Spetec has taken this as its guiding principle as it relaunches its clean room technology modules. As a result, the revised Laminar Flow Module boasts improved air flow characteristics and energy-saving fan technology. In addition, Spetec’s Laminar Flow Modules now feature monitoring and smart devices. It is now possible to control and assess the introduction of clean air to match the load and degree of contamination from any location. This is implemented in close cooperation with the customers to meet their precise requirements. The FMS Laminar Flow Module makes it possible to equip a workplace with clean room facilities simply and cost-efficiently. The module is fitted directly above various types of workplaces or over a machine. The ambient air is drawn in with a radial fan and forced through the filter. This creates a laminar flow. In other words, the filtered air flows in parallel layers.
